Gallery-shop Lühikese Jala Galerii is situated in the beginning of the stairs in Lühike Jalg Street in Tallinn old town. The gallery was formed by a group of Estonian textile artists in purpose to promote and sell Estonian professional applied art and design in 1993. The gallery represents artists belonging to different generations and using different techniques. Lühikese Jala Galerii cooperates with 28 textile artists, 10 leather artists, 9 glass artists, 28 ceramists, 12 graphic artists, 14 jewellery-makers and 10 small companies.

 

The exposition is constantly renewed; it includes contemporary textiles, painted silks, tapestries, ceramics, sculptures, glassware, jewellery, leatherworks, prints and postcards. One can choose between small decorative or practical items and large-scaled ceramic vases and interior textiles. Every piece is unique, mostly handmade by the artist-author.

 

Gallery team consists of experienced salespersons able to give information about techniques, materials and artists. We are ready to pack your purchases as gifts or send the artworks to you by post on behalf of the gallery.

 

The middle room of the gallery is interesting because of natural stream flowing behind the house. Visitors can have a look to the stream upon request.
